The photo below of Historic Seaton Springs Farm was taken by Syresa Rowland last winter and has been chosen by the Smoky Mountains -Blount – Cocke – Sevier Historical Society as their Facebook winter cover photo. We are honored that this photo of our home/B&B/event center was chosen out of numerous entries!
Well, what an amazing surprise we got this week as we opened our mail.
Our Nashville friends, the Hagar family, sent us a Christmas card this week and the painting on the front was inspired by our home here at Historic Seaton Springs Farm. I, Lonnie, have known the Hagar’s for over 20 years and never knew Melvin was an amazing painter (please see his amazing work below).
I knew he was a great pianist from old days of playing music together in church but what a surprise to see this additional talent. Thank you Melvin for your kind and thoughtful gesture and we are truly grateful. Merry Christmas to the Hagar’s and to all our friends and family. May God bless you all this Christmas season and throughout the coming new year!

Historic Seaton Springs Farm was chosen by Knoxville songwriter/musician Matthew Hickey as the location for the video shoot of his song, Little Back Porch. The song is on his album entitled Ride and has received some airplay in the past 2 years on local Country music stations in Knoxville. The video was produced by Orlando, Florida based videographer, Danny Fisherman and the song tells the story of Matthew’s memories of growing up with his grandfather’s back porch stories and guidance and now using that education for guidance of his own son. Hickey and Fisherman both commented how Historic Seaton Springs Farm’s porch and property was the perfect setting for capturing the visual memories of this song’s story. We are very grateful that Matthew chose our home and property to be the visual expression of his much loved song. The video is currently in post production and should be released for online viewing in a few weeks.

We are now feeling the cooler fall nights as we’ve had lows in the mid 40’s and will have lows in the mid 30’s this weekend! It’s still great to be outside and what better way to stay warm than sitting on the deck under bright party lights and drinking a warm beverage and roasting s’mores next to a roaring fire.
