Rainy Days & Mondays

How wonderful to have the much needed rain today (Monday) at Historic Seaton Springs Farm and rainy days and Mondays never get us down. We’ve worked hard planting flowers and plants and decorating our property  so that guests can relax and enjoy the beauty of our home.  The rain is always a blessing from above.

During rainy days here at Historic Seaton Springs  Farm, guests can sit on the porch enjoying the beauty while sipping a cup of coffee or a glass of Syresa’s southern sweet iced tea, play a game of Kuntry Checkers, work on the ongoing jigsaw puzzle, or take a nap in one of our cozy guest bedrooms. Of course, guests are only 7 minutes from the Pigeon Forge Parkway with numerous attractions, shows and good restaurants. Come stay with us and find the peace you’ve been looking for!

Wedding Day at the Farm

  1. Wow! Last week was a busy one here at Seaton Springs Farm. Numerous overnight guests including 2 International couples, Australia and UK! Rain and more rain. Even on Wedding Day! Yes rain caused the lakeside service to become a Veranda service. We had our rain plan and set up…a little moving a few items back and forth …and a happy couple – it was pouring at service time.  After the service was over the rain stopped and photos were taken by the lake arbor and numerous places on the grounds. It was another happy wedding day at the farm!

There’s bears in them thar woods!

This morning as Syresa and I were traveling a narrow part of Seaton Springs Road, we came upon a black bear running across and down the street. We had heard of sightings in the distant past but this was the first time we ever seen one on our street! This was less than a mile from our home and he was scampering to get away from our vehicle. Syresa tried to get her phone camera operating and was able to catch part of it’s shadowy figure as it made its way into the safety of the woods. I tell you what, dem bars can run!

We Are International!

Sharing the love

A while back, we took a trip and stayed at a bed & breakfast in the NE.   The owners were retiring and had sold their home to become a privately owned residence.   There was a photo album from the years the lady was showing us.  One photo stood out to me.  It was one of the gorgeous gardens.  There were double poppies in large beds.  I was really in adoration!  The kind lady then told me she had lots of seed and brought out a packet containing thousands .  I planted a number on the early part of the fall and again this spring.  I don’t have large patches but what I do have is Beautiful!

I may be far away  from you but I want to share the love from Historic Seaton Springs Farm.

Mother’s Day

We all have one…somewhere.  Near us, miles away,  in thought,  in our lives daily,  some in Heaven.   Our Mother.   Some may not have given birth to you and some did.  Some may not have raised you and some did.  Her blood may or may not run through your veins.   “She” may actually be your Dad or she may work in your life as both your parents because Dad is not in your life.   No matter your situation we all have a Mother of some type in our lives.   Someone who has sacrificed,  loves you,  and wants you to grow as a person.  To be independent. To be your best you.

Before this weekend arrives, think back through your life.  Good and bad.   Regardless of who gave birth to you,  think about who was your support.   Then no matter who it was or is…honor that person by spending some time together.  No cell phone,  no messaging.  Spend devoted time one on one as a token of the time your Mother sacrificed in her/their life to get you where you are today.  Share the love.  Life is precious.

Monday morning sure looks fine!

What a way to start the week! Beautimous day that calls for some porch sitting on the veranda to start the morning off right.   Speaking of the veranda… this Saturday is our Mother’s Day Tea!   We have two pair of Mother/Daughters staying this weekend and decided to have this tea as a brunch.  Brunch starts at 10 AM and you can attend as a single also!   Fresh fruits and quiches, breakfast meats, desserts with teas and coffee.  RSVP required and open to the public.   Please share the info!  We LOVE making new friends!

Easy like Sunday Morning

What a fantastic Sunday!  Cool and breeze blowing gently in the valley, trees on the mountain are leafing out beautifully.  No sounds except the sweet song of the birds!  It never gets old sitting on the porch rocking!  Seaton Springs is just a great place to take it easy and afterwards go the short drive to Pigeon Forge for a meal.

Smoky Mountain Weather

  1. Cool. This morning it’s in the low 40s.  This native Georgia Gal needs warmer temps!   I don’t wanna miss Spring and go straight to Summer though!  Lots of planting in the works today readying the grounds for wedding season.  Keep watching for pics…..
